Jell-O Drum

Jell-O, 5.5”x14” Ludwig Snare Drum, Drum Throne, Contact Microphones, Speaker Wire, Electronics.

Made as an Associate Artist-in-Residence under Robert Normandeau at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.

During my residency, I created an instrument tactile and bizarre enough to draw people’s attention and encourage them to play with it. By casting a standard-sized snare drum and molding it with Jell-O, I was able to create a standalone 'Jell-O drum' that could be amplified simply by outputting the audio signal to an adequate sound system.

New Smyrna Beach, Florida. February-March, 2018.
